In building sauna houses, the HFG team uses only sustainable, environmentally friendly and health-safe materials, as well as methods proven over centuries:

• Natural paints and finishing materials — natural oil paints, lime, tar and silicate paints are used. They not only preserve the wood’s texture and natural character, but also provide excellent protection against moisture and mould;
• Wood protection — charring and linseed oil/tar treatment. On structures exposed to heavy wear, such as terrace supports, columns and outdoor boards, we use the charring method, which combined with linseed oil and tar impregnation provides excellent protection against rot, fungi and weathering;
• Timber selection — materials are chosen according to strict principles: timber felled in winter. It’s more durable, denser and of higher quality, and only certified timber meeting the highest standards is used.
